Context
In December 1996, Olympia welcomes Roberto Carlos between the São Paulo run of his show Amor and preparations for his annual television appearance. Mulher de 40 joins the repertoire at the end of that year. Directed by Jorge Fernando, the special brings this new material together with collaborators and guests from different generations.
Onstage, Erasmo Carlos shares Amigo with Roberto. Almir Sater and Sérgio Reis bring the connection to O Rei do Gado, while Martinho da Vila joins in on Aquarela do Brasil and Djavan sings Correnteza. The family reunion provides another focal point for the night: Rafael Braga takes the stage to sing As Curvas da Estrada de Santos with his father.
Aired by Globo on December 21, the program turns the concert run into a television gathering, with interviews and musical performances. Part of that history finds another home in 2006: Rei do Gado, with Sater and Reis, appears on the compilation Duetos. The recording preserves the intersection of romantic song, the telenovela, and family history.
- Rafael Braga sings As Curvas da Estrada de Santos alongside his father.
