Roberto Carlos — Verde é Vida
Recorded 1990
Rio de Janeiro ·
Brazil
Setlist not available.
“To see Roberto Carlos turn Christmas in 1990 into an environmental campaign, with afternoon and evening programming.”
Context
At Christmas in 1990, environmental advocacy takes the place normally reserved for the year-end musical gathering. Roberto Carlos leads an edition split between afternoon and evening. The campaign moves beyond the stage: Globo actors distribute tree seedlings in different Brazilian cities.
At Teatro Fênix in Rio de Janeiro, Roberto shares hosting duties with Claudia Raia. The live broadcast alternates between music, reporting, and environmental initiatives. The format expands the host's role: beyond singing, he coordinates programming that connects the studio to initiatives across the country.
In the evening, the programming changes settings and presents a concert recorded days earlier at Maracanãzinho. The split-schedule format returns in 1991, this time also dedicated to children and older adults. Verde é Vida remains the chapter in which the environmental campaign shapes the Christmas celebration.
