“To see Roberto Carlos and Fafá de Belém bring the Constituent Assembly into the 1987 year-end special.”
Context
In 1987, the Constituent Assembly also finds its way into Roberto Carlos's year-end television gathering. At Teatro Fênix in Rio de Janeiro, Fafá de Belém shares songs and a conversation about the country's future. Politics enters the space usually occupied by declarations of love.
Roberto turns his wardrobe into a narrative thread: he changes clothing and accessories to recall different phases of his career. Lobo Mau and Eu Sou Terrível revisit Jovem Guarda. Eduardo Lages's orchestra accompanies the host, while Erasmo Carlos, Jairzinho, Simony and Gabriela broaden the gathering across generations.
Globo airs the program on December 29, directed by Walter Lacet. This edition is part of a television tradition that began in 1974 and remains available in the Globoplay archive. Between memories evoked by the clothes and the discussion of the country, the recording preserves two ways of looking at the passage of time.
- Costume changes guide the journey through different phases of his career.
