Roberto Carlos

Roberto Carlos was born in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, Espírito Santo, and began recording in the late 1950s. In 1965, he hosted the TV show Jovem Guarda alongside Erasmo Carlos and Wanderléa, while records such as Jovem Guarda gathered hits from his rock and iê-iê-iê phase.

In the following decade, he began favoring romantic songs, like those on Roberto Carlos (1970) and Detalhes (1971), and kept to that line in the decades after.
