Context
On December 23, 1983, Ginásio do Ibirapuera is packed for a night that also airs live on television. Roberto Carlos reaches his tenth year-end special on Globo. Two weeks earlier, he released the album featuring Perdoa and O Côncavo e o Convexo.
Emoções opens the show in São Paulo. Erasmo Carlos, Djavan and Gal Costa appear on the program, which alternates musical performances with an interview with the host. The questions come from residents of different Brazilian cities. The broadcast combines the performance before the audience with some prerecorded songs.
The following year, the special trades this gathering at Ibirapuera for a narrative that begins with Roberto behind the wheel of a truck and ends at Maracanãzinho. The 1983 recording remains in Globo's television archives: a chapter in which the annual program puts live performance at the center of the celebration.
- Erasmo Carlos, Djavan and Gal Costa appear on the same edition.
