Context
On May 27, 1996, Jagged Little Pill is not yet a year old, but it already reaches Pinkpop with the Grammy for album of the year. Alanis Morissette takes Megaland, in Landgraaf, on the Monday that closes a three-day edition of the festival.
On stage, All I Really Want opens a sequence devoted entirely to the album. Nick Lashley and Jesse Tobias share the guitars, Chris Chaney takes the bass and Taylor Hawkins plays drums. Alanis adds harmonica to her voice; Hand in My Pocket, Ironic and You Oughta Know run through the center of the performance.
After Wake Up, You Learn closes the run. The schedule moves on to the United States that same week, while the recording stays tied to Pinkpop's TV coverage. Preserved in the festival archive, the performance concentrates Alanis's international breakthrough into nine songs.
