Tour albumFallen2003 · Fallen TourThe show is part of the Fallen tour, which supplies ten of the fourteen songs documented for that night.“To see the return to Rock am Ring after Ben Moody's departure, with Terry Balsamo on guitar.”
Context
A year after its first festival appearance, Evanescence returns to the Nürburgring on June 4, 2004. Fallen still carries the road, but the lineup has already changed: Ben Moody left the band during the 2003 European leg. Terry Balsamo now plays lead guitar alongside John LeCompt.
Amy Lee is on vocals, with Will Boyd on bass and Rocky Gray on drums. Haunted opens the show; Going Under and Everybody's Fool keep Fallen at the center of the stage. The set also crosses into other bands: Thoughtless brings in Korn, while Zero takes the Smashing Pumpkins into the home stretch, before Whisper.
The tour runs until August, and the German recording remains tied to the festival's television broadcast, documented by Rockpalast. In November, the band releases Anywhere but Home, filmed in Paris, not Nürburg. They are two close portraits of the same phase: the debut album still shapes the show, while the new lineup gets its own documentation.
- Thoughtless and Zero place Korn and the Smashing Pumpkins among the Fallen songs.
