Context
On June 9, 2003, Evanescence reaches Megaland just three months after the release of Fallen. It is the band's first Pinkpop appearance, on the tour that takes Amy Lee and Ben Moody beyond the Arkansas circuit and onto European festivals.
On stage, Lee shares the lineup with Moody, John LeCompt, Will Boyd and Rocky Gray. Going Under opens the run of songs, and Fallen fills nine of the set's twelve slots. Farther Away and Even in Death widen that selection, while The Smashing Pumpkins' Zero comes before Bring Me to Life.
The tour goes on, but that partnership has little time left: Moody leaves the band in October, still during the European run. Evanescence returns to Pinkpop in 2007, already in another phase. Preserved in the festival's video archive, the 2003 show keeps the meeting between the first big album and its first international stages.
- The Smashing Pumpkins' Zero opens a gap among the Fallen songs.
