Context
In August 2006, The Open Door is still awaiting release, but four of its songs already find an acoustic form in Los Angeles. After Ben Moody's departure, Amy Lee had built the second album mainly with Terry Balsamo. The AOL session presents this phase before the tour.
Amy handles vocals and piano, John LeCompt plays acoustic guitar and Dave Eggar adds cello. Call Me When You're Sober opens the run, followed by Lithium and Good Enough. All That I'm Living For closes the musical segment. It is also Lee's first work with Eggar, a collaboration that continues.
In September, The Open Door reaches stores; in October, the world tour begins and runs until December 2007. The session circulates online with an interview and behind-the-scenes footage. The recording preserves a performance from before the road, with the new songs pared down to piano, acoustic guitar, voice and cello.
