Context
In June 2005, Bloc Party arrive at Worthy Farm with just one album and a schedule that already spans continents. Silent Alarm had come out in February. The Glastonbury debut puts the quartet on the Other Stage, in front of a bigger crowd than the first clubs.
Kele Okereke shares the guitars with Russell Lissack, while Gordon Moakes and Matt Tong handle bass and drums. Like Eating Glass opens the surviving sequence. Blue Light, This Modern Love and So Here We Are appear between Positive Tension, Helicopter and The Pioneers: different faces of the same debut record.
After Glastonbury, the band moves on to other festivals and reaches Australia in July. Silent Alarm gets a remix album in August, extending its first cycle. The Pilton recording keeps ten songs from this appearance: not a retrospective, but a band still presenting the songs that make its name.
