Context
On June 9, 2003, Linkin Park's cancellation reshuffles the final stretch of Pinkpop. Queens of the Stone Age takes over their slot, after a swap with Evanescence. In Landgraaf, the band arrives with Songs for the Deaf and a lineup that brings together three singers.
Josh Homme, Nick Oliveri and Mark Lanegan share the microphone, with Troy Van Leeuwen on guitar and keyboards and Joey Castillo on drums. Hangin' Tree, In the Fade and A Song for the Dead form a central block. Avon and Regular John bring the first record into a run dominated by the third.
The encore closes the Megaland set with Ode to Clarissa and The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret. After the festival, the performance goes to radio and is announced for broadcast on Nederland 3 in July. The footage preserves a stage of the tour before Oliveri's departure in 2004.
- Hangin' Tree, In the Fade and A Song for the Dead come back to back at the center of the show.
