Context
A year earlier, the Killers were playing Glastonbury's New Bands Tent. On June 24, 2005, they take the Pyramid Stage ahead of the White Stripes. The leap could have been bigger: invited to replace Kylie Minogue as Sunday's closer, they declined because they didn't consider themselves ready to headline the festival.
Brandon Flowers shows up in a mint-green blazer, while Ronnie Vannucci battles food poisoning before playing. Somebody Told Me opens the run of eleven songs. The crowd sings the Hot Fuss singles, but there is room for something new: All the Pretty Faces comes in between Midnight Show and Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll.
The closing brings together Mr. Brightside and All These Things That I've Done, which days later gets another British stage at Live 8 in London. The performance remains on record in the BBC's TV coverage. All the Pretty Faces follows another path: it becomes a B-side and lands on the compilation Sawdust, extending the life of that Glastonbury novelty.
- All the Pretty Faces previews still-unreleased material in the middle of the Hot Fuss tour.
