“To see the lineup with Emma Anzai at Nova Rock, just four days after its debut in Athens.”
Context
Four days after the new lineup's debut in Athens, Evanescence reaches the fields of Nickelsdorf. It is June 9, 2022, and the change is still recent: Emma Anzai takes over bass, while Tim McCord moves to guitar after 16 years on the instrument he now hands to his bandmate.
Amy Lee leads a set that opens with Broken Pieces Shine and brings The Bitter Truth close to the earlier albums. Take Cover, Wasted on You and Better Without You share space with Going Under and Lithium. My Immortal turns up midway; Use My Voice sets up the close with Bring Me to Life.
The show is broadcast in full and preserves one of this lineup's first meetings with a European audience. The schedule continues through Prague and Rostock, still in June, before other legs of the tour. The recording captures this transition: a recent album carries the road while the band rearranges its places on stage.
