Context
On June 10, 2007, Donington's main stage welcomes a freshly reorganized Evanescence. Troy McLawhorn and Will Hunt had replaced John LeCompt and Rocky Gray only a few weeks earlier. The Open Door tour continues across Europe, and the band plays the slot right before Iron Maiden.
The wait for the headliner runs through the show in boos and chants of Maiden. Before Lithium, Amy Lee answers back and asserts the band's right to be there. Weight of the World opens a run of fifteen songs; Going Under and Bring Me to Life share space with nine tracks from the second album.
After Donington, the schedule continues across Europe before joining Korn on the American Family Values Tour. The Open Door cycle runs until December 2007. The show remains documented in an online broadcast, preserving the meeting between the renewed lineup and a crowd that offers no automatic welcome.
