Context
On June 9, 2003, Audioslave reaches Megaland with a short history and well-known names. Chris Cornell brings the Soundgarden legacy; Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk come from Rage Against the Machine. The first album had reached stores at the end of the previous year.
On the Landgraaf stage, the band opens with the White Stripes' Seven Nation Army before moving into Set It Off and Exploder. Cornell takes the microphone, Morello the guitar, Commerford the bass and Wilk the drums. Funkadelic's Super Stupid breaks the run of original songs; Cochise closes the performance.
After Pinkpop, the schedule moves through Paris and other European stages, still promoting the first album. The quartet only expands its discography with Out of Exile in 2005. The professional footage of this afternoon resurfaces in the festival's official archive in 2025, preserving a phase in which Audioslave has only one album to defend.
- Seven Nation Army opens the performance; Super Stupid brings Funkadelic into the set.
