Context
Less than a year after its 2023 visit to Brazil, Evanescence returns to Rio on September 15, 2024. On the Palco Mundo, the band takes the second-to-last slot of the night devoted to rock. The Bitter Truth still carries much of the set, without pushing aside the hits from the first albums.
The opening stumbles on a technical problem and has to start over. When Broken Pieces Shine kicks in, Amy Lee has Emma Anzai, Will Hunt, Troy McLawhorn and Tim McCord beside her. Going Under and Call Me When You're Sober lead the singalongs; near the end, My Immortal gets an extension sung in Portuguese.
Bring Me to Life closes the show after this meeting of languages. The night also reaches those far from the Cidade do Rock through the live broadcast on Multishow, Globoplay and the festival's website. The recording keeps the contrast of that visit: recent material up front and a close anchored in Fallen.
- My Immortal gets an ending in Portuguese before Bring Me to Life.
