Context
In December 2003, Good Charlotte reaches the Brixton Academy after a year in which their singles cross the line between rock and pop radio. The Young and the Hopeless drives that expansion. London hosts two nights of the tour, with Sugarcult and Mest also on the bill.
Joel Madden takes the microphone, with Benji Madden and Billy Martin on guitars, Paul Thomas on bass and Chris Wilson on drums. The Anthem opens the main sequence. Festival Song and I Heard You revisit the debut, while Emotionless takes acoustic form. Lifestyles Of The Rich & Famous closes the show.
In 2004, these performances reach DVD, accompanied by a behind-the-scenes documentary and a photo montage. The release coincides with the arrival of The Chronicles of Life and Death, but preserves the earlier stage: a band already reaching the pop audience and still centering the stage on the songs of its second album.
- Emotionless gets an acoustic version before the final sequence.
