Context
Before Making Love Out of Nothing at All extends their run of hits, Air Supply arrive in Honolulu with three records behind their conquest of the American market. Now and Forever had come out in June 1982. At the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock still lead a seven-piece band.
The group opens with I Can't Get Excited and moves through Chances before reaching Lost in Love. Rex Goh and David Moyse share the guitars; Frank Esler-Smith is on keyboards, with David Green and Ralph Cooper on bass and drums. Among the hits come One Step Closer, Late Again and I Want to Give It All.
Later in 1983, Greatest Hits gathers the singles and adds Making Love Out of Nothing at All, a collaboration with songwriter Jim Steinman. The Hawaii concert takes another path: it becomes the band's first live video release, on VHS and LaserDisc. It preserves a phase before the reshuffle of the musicians backing Hitchcock and Russell.
- This Heart Belongs to Me closes the performance, after All Out of Love and The One That You Love.
