Context
On the threshold of fifty years of career, Roberto Carlos returns to the Arena Multiuso, in Jacarepaguá, to meet about nine thousand people. It is December 2008, and the Christmas special brings regular partners together with two debuts: Rita Lee and Neguinho da Beija-Flor join this TV celebration for the first time.
Zezé Di Camargo and Luciano share A Distância and O Portão with the host. Rita arrives with Roberto de Carvalho and Beto Lee for a medley that crosses the two singers' repertoires. Neguinho brings the Beija-Flor drum section; with Caetano Veloso and Daniel Jobim, Roberto makes room for Chega de Saudade.
The edit intercuts the arena with a meeting at Projac, where Nelson Motta leads the conversation between Roberto and Caetano. Their joint project around Tom Jobim, presented that year, also runs through the Christmas program. Aired by Globo on December 25, the special ends with Jesus Cristo and the singer's good wishes.
- Daniel Jobim accompanies Roberto and Caetano's meeting on Chega de Saudade.
- The Beija-Flor drum section brings the samba of Nilópolis to the arena.
