“For Roberto Carlos's meeting with Michel Teló on a song tied to the sertanejo singer's childhood.”
Context
Between the Spanish of the romantic hits and the Portuguese of a tribute to his father, Roberto Carlos occupies two territories that meet in this selection. Cóncavo y Convexo opens the sequence; Detalles, Cama y Mesa and Desahogo extend the romantic thread before Qué Será de Ti and Amada Amante.
And I Love Her brings the Beatles into the run. Then Un Gato en la Oscuridad, Lady Laura and Amigo lead the sequence to the meeting with Michel Teló. The two share Meu Querido, Meu Velho, Meu Amigo, shifting the close from romance to the bond between father and son.
The meeting between the singers has a personal backstory: at seven, Teló sang this song in a tribute to his father. In 2012, he performs the duet on the TV special Reflexões. Later, he frames the suit he wore for that appearance, turning the outfit into a concrete keepsake of the partnership.
