Context
In June 2024, Black Stone Cherry brings its Kentucky rock to Clisson. Hellfest hosts the band with a set that spans different albums, without focusing on a single release. The June 29 performance features nine songs and makes room for a drum passage inside Cheaper to Drink Alone.
Me and Mary Jane opens the sequence, followed by Again and Out of Pocket. Like I Roll keeps the path moving between the group's eras. In the home stretch, When the Pain Comes leads into White Trash Millionaire and Blame It on the Boom Boom. Lonely Train closes the block, linking the festival set to the band's first album.
The Sombrero & Co recording preserves this Hellfest set in just over 43 minutes. It captures the band at a festival devoted to heaviness, but with room for its Southern rock vocabulary. The drum solo interrupts the run of songs without shifting the axis of the set.
