Context
In July 2024, the Nowell surname returns to the center of Sublime's stage. After the December 2023 benefit show and the Coachella appearance, Jakob takes the vocals alongside Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh. Bayfest welcomes this reunion as the headliner of its fifth edition.
At Waterfront Park, Jakob introduces himself by name and opens with Garden Grove, followed by Wrong Way and The Ballad of Johnny Butt. Wilson swaps bass for keyboard on April 29, 1992 (Miami). Among the 1990s songs, Feel Like That brings a release from the new phase to the stage.
After San Diego, the schedule moves on to Red Rocks in Colorado. The recording preserves this early stage of the lineup with Jakob, still before a new studio album. Santeria closes the documented musical run: the past remains in the set, but now there is another Nowell at the microphone.
- Eric Wilson moves to keyboard on April 29, 1992 (Miami).
