Context
Rain accompanies the first Friday of Pinkpop 2024, but Keane's set even finds a rainbow in Landgraaf. On June 21, the band brings the twentieth-anniversary celebration of Hopes and Fears to Megaland. The anniversary had brought a reissue of the record in May.
Tom Chaplin leads sixteen songs alongside Tim Rice-Oxley, Jesse Quin and Richard Hughes. Can't Stop Now opens the run, which spans the five studio albums without abandoning the debut's center of gravity. In Somewhere Only We Know, the field sings along and hands go up.
After Landgraaf, the schedule continues through the European summer and reaches the United States in September. The show remains a broadcast from Dutch public programming, aired in full on NPO 2 Extra and circulated digitally. Bedshaped closes a celebration that doesn't need to play the whole record to put it back at the center.
- Somewhere Only We Know brings the whole field together in a collective sing-along.
