Context
On June 1, 2024, two Orange County stories meet in Anaheim. Smash turns three decades old, and the Honda Center wraps up its own 30th anniversary. The Offspring makes its arena debut with a direct idea: play the whole album and then make room for other hits.
A giant skeleton fills the back of the stage. Dexter Holland, Noodles, Todd Morse, Jonah Nimoy and Brandon Pertzborn come in on Nitro (Youth Energy), and pits open on the floor. Bad Habit and Gotta Get Away drive the start; Come Out and Play welcomes Jason McLean. The celebration also keeps the album's less frequently played tracks.
After the Smash block, the show continues with hits from other eras, outside this cut. The recording circulates as a livestream and preserves the celebration in an edit devoted to the 1994 album. The gesture is specific: to give the whole album back to the region the band came from, without reducing its history to the singles.
- Jason “Blackball” McLean joins on Come Out and Play.
