Context
In July 2024, the Nowell surname returns to the center of Sublime's stage. Jakob had reunited with Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh at the end of 2023 and played Coachella in April. Now the trio arrives in Marshfield to close Levitate on July 7.
Garden Grove opens the run, which moves through Wrong Way, Pawn Shop and Badfish before reaching Santeria. Jakob takes vocals and guitar in front of the two founding members. There is room for a solo Pool Shark during technical problems and for Scott Woodruff of Stick Figure to step in on Feel Like That.
Released in May, Feel Like That had joined a Bradley Nowell recording with new vocals from Jakob and Woodruff. At the festival, the collaboration takes physical form on stage. The stream preserves this meeting: a closing set that gathers the inherited repertoire and a new song, without erasing the distance between the two eras.
- Pool Shark is left to Jakob alone while the crew sorts out technical problems.
