“To see the unplanned end of the Love at First Sting 40th-anniversary tour, at Wacken.”
Context
Forty years separate Love at First Sting from this Thursday in Wacken. On August 1, 2024, the Scorpions take the Harder Stage with a celebration that is not limited to the singles. The 1984 album supplies eight songs to the night, including I'm Leaving You, Crossfire and The Same Thrill.
Coming Home opens the show, but Gas in the Tank brings the present of Rock Believer into the celebration. Rudolf Schenker walks the catwalk, Matthias Jabs takes Delicate Dance and the duo of Paweł Mąciwoda and Mikkey Dee gets the spotlight in New Vision. Doro steps in on Big City Nights to share the mic with Klaus Meine.
Still Loving You and Rock You Like a Hurricane close the encore. The night ends up being the tour's final stop: an injury to Jabs forces the cancellation of the five German dates in September. The MagentaMusik and MagentaTV broadcast preserves this meeting between the planned celebration and a close no one had announced.
- Doro shares Big City Nights with Klaus Meine.
