Context
In the afternoon, at the Hildesheim airfield, Deathstars take M'era Luna's main stage with a still-recent return to recording. Everything Destroys You had ended, in 2023, nine years without a studio album. Now the Swedish band puts that material before the German festival crowd.
Whiplasher Bernadotte leads eleven songs between the guitars of Nightmare Industries and Cat Casino, Skinny Disco's bass and Nitro's drums. With no pyrotechnics and little talk, the group focuses its 45 minutes on the songs. Midnight Party and Everything Destroys You find room among Tongues, Metal and the closing Cyanide.
The performance lives on in ARTE Concert's programming, which preserves the gathering in a television recording. The footage captures a phase in which the quintet is back to working with new songs without abandoning the older ones. Within the festival's short window, both sides share the same stage.
- Eleven songs in 45 minutes, with little talk and no pyrotechnics.
