Context
In July 2024, the oval room of the Richelieu library welcomes a voice used to choosing its appearances. Beth Gibbons returns to Paris after singing at the Salle Pleyel in May. Between the two dates, Lives Outgrown sets the center of this phase: songs about loss, transformation and the passing of time.
In the historic space of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, Gibbons opens with Tell Me Who You Are Today and moves through nine tracks from the record. Mysteries breaks that run and brings back her partnership with Rustin Man. Seven musicians surround the singer, with strings, winds, keyboards and percussion in the band's instrumentation.
The night takes television form in the Passengers series, directed by Sébastien Lefebvre for ARTE. The film preserves a specific meeting between newly released songs and a place of memory. Reaching Out closes the sequence, while the library gives a concrete frame to Gibbons's questions about what endures.
- Mysteries opens a passage to her partnership with Rustin Man amid nine songs from Lives Outgrown.
