Context
On June 5, 2006, Editors takes the John Peel Stage at Pinkpop, in Landgraaf. The Back Room is still its only album. After playing Rock im Park and Rock am Ring on the previous two days, the four-piece reaches the Netherlands in the thick of the European festival circuit.
Tom Smith shares the stage with Chris Urbanowicz, Russell Leetch and Ed Lay. Lights opens the run, and Bullets keeps the debut at the center of the set. But the group is already looking ahead: Bones and The Weight of the World preview the second record. Near the end, Road to Nowhere makes room for Talking Heads before Fingers in the Factories.
The schedule continues with shows in Portugal and England. In 2007, Bones and The Weight of the World find a place on An End Has a Start, which reaches number one in the UK. Preserved as a festival recording, the set brings together two moments of the band: the first album still holds up the stage, while the next one is already taking shape.
