Context
On June 5, 2006, Under the Iron Sea is a week away from stores. Keane steps onto the Pinkpop stage for the first time, at Megaland in Landgraaf. The band is still a trio, but it already brings more songs from the second album than from the first to the main stage.
Tom Chaplin takes the vocals, Tim Rice-Oxley handles the keyboards and Richard Hughes holds down the drums. Put It Behind You and Nothing in My Way open the run. Somewhere Only We Know and Everybody's Changing meet a crowd that sings along, while Atlantic and A Bad Dream introduce the next phase.
The following week, Under the Iron Sea reaches the international market and debuts at the top of the British chart. The tour continues until 2007. The Pinkpop TV recording preserves this particular window: the new songs already share space with the hits, but the second record hasn't reached stores yet.
- Seven songs from the second album share the stage with five tracks from Hopes and Fears.
