Context
On June 5, 2006, Stadium Arcadium is still new in stores when the Red Hot Chili Peppers arrive at Megaland, in Landgraaf. The world tour began a few days earlier, in Barcelona. At Pinkpop, the quartet sets six songs from the double album alongside songs from the two previous decades.
The opening moves from a jam into Can't Stop and Dani California. Kiedis leads the vocals, while Frusciante also takes the microphone on the Bee Gees' How Deep Is Your Love? Wet Sand and Warlocks find a place among established hits. In the encore, Smith plays his solo before Under the Bridge and Give It Away.
After Landgraaf, the road leads to Lyon and continues until 2007. This is the last tour with Frusciante before his departure, confirmed in 2009. The professional footage preserves the start of this cycle: newly released songs already take a decisive share of the stage, without crowding out the improvisation.
- Frusciante sings the Bee Gees between Tell Me Baby and Throw Away Your Television.
