Context
On June 2, 2023, Depeche Mode arrives at the Parc del Fòrum with an absence that runs through the performance. Andrew Fletcher died the year before. Dave Gahan and Martin Gore carry on as a duo, joined by Christian Eigner and Peter Gordeno, on the first tour without the founding keyboardist.
My Cosmos Is Mine and Wagging Tongue open the show with material from Memento Mori. Home hands lead vocals to Gore and includes the band introductions. Later, World in My Eyes carries the dedication to Fletcher. The encore gathers Just Can't Get Enough, Never Let Me Down Again and Personal Jesus.
A week later, the tour reaches the Madrid edition of Primavera Sound and continues until April 2024. The Barcelona performance is documented by the Amazon Prime Video broadcast. It is a festival record of this reorganization: two figures up front, four musicians onstage and an absence named within the setlist.
- World in My Eyes carries the tribute to Fletcher.
