Context
After two years off because of the pandemic, Lollapalooza returns to Chile and fills Parque Bicentenario de Cerrillos. On the cold night of March 20, The Strokes close the festival. The New Abnormal, released in 2020, reaches the stage alongside songs from the first records.
Bad Decisions opens the show, and You Only Live Once sets the grounds in motion. Julian Casablancas shares the stage with his four bandmates from the original lineup. On Razorblade, the band shifts into cumbia; later, it follows the fans' olé chant in an improvisation that stretches the conversation between stage and crowd.
Take It or Leave It closes the main set, but Someday brings the quintet back for the encore. The schedule moves on to Brazil's Lollapalooza and Colombia's Estéreo Picnic. VTR's TV broadcast preserves the Chilean night: a show in which the songs share space with the crowd's insistent singing.
- Razorblade passes through cumbia before the fans' chanting leads a collective improvisation.
