“To see the live debut of Eternal Summer at the start of The Strokes' 2022 touring season.”
Context
On March 19, the Hipódromo de San Isidro hosts The Strokes' first show of 2022. The band had not played since November, at Brooklyn Steel. The New Abnormal, released almost two years earlier, is still the latest record and shares space with songs that had been away from the stage.
Bad Decisions opens the performance, followed by You Only Live Once and Under Control. The quintet brings back Electricityscape and Trying Your Luck, debuts Eternal Summer and injects cumbia into Razorblade and the opening of Reptilia. There is friction outside the set list too: technical problems interrupt the night, while Justin Quiles' sound bleeds onto the main stage.
After San Isidro, the band moves on to the Chilean and Brazilian editions of Lollapalooza. The Argentine night is captured by Flow's broadcast, as part of its full coverage of the festival. This cut keeps Killing Lies in the encore but ends during New York City Cops, before Ode to the Mets closes the performance.
- Razorblade and Reptilia get cumbia interludes.
