Context
After two years off because of the pandemic, Southside returns to Neuhausen ob Eck. On June 18, 2022, The Killers arrive at the German festival with the Imploding the Mirage Tour. The wait for the reunion also runs through a tour originally announced for 2020.
Brandon Flowers opens with Mr. Brightside, without saving the hit for the farewell. Jenny Was a Friend of Mine, Smile Like You Mean It and Somebody Told Me reinforce the weight of Hot Fuss. Ted Sablay takes lead guitar in Dave Keuning's absence, while Shadowplay brings Joy Division to the center of the run.
Dying Breed represents the record that names the tour, before When You Were Young and All These Things That I've Done close the performance. The circuit moves on to Zagreb and Milan, and the tour continues into 2023. The festival broadcast preserves this slice: fourteen songs and a selection focused on the hits.
- Ted Sablay takes lead guitar during Dave Keuning's absence.
