Context
On May 28, 2007, just over a month separates the British release of Favourite Worst Nightmare from Arctic Monkeys' stop at Pinkpop. The second album had already reached number one in the United Kingdom. In Landgraaf, the band brings that new stage to the Megaland stage.
Alex Turner and Jamie Cook take the guitars, with Nick O'Malley on bass and Matt Helders on drums. This House Is a Circus opens the sequence. Balaclava runs into Fake Tales of San Francisco, bringing the two albums together. Brianstorm appears midway; A Certain Romance gets the close.
The schedule moves on to Luxembourg and Rock am Ring, before taking the quartet to a headlining slot at Glastonbury in June. In December, another show from this tour becomes At the Apollo. The Pinkpop recording preserves an earlier stage of the same road: the second album still fresh, split between festival stages and the weight of the debut.
- Balaclava runs into Fake Tales of San Francisco, linking the second album to the debut.
