Context
On June 1, 2008, Queens of the Stone Age returns to Pinkpop for the third time. Between the 2003 visit and this afternoon in Landgraaf, the lineup has changed. Michael Shuman and Dean Fertita joined for the Era Vulgaris tour, alongside Homme, Van Leeuwen and Castillo.
The band opens with Era Vulgaris and segues into Sick, Sick, Sick. The recent record holds the center of the performance, but does not close its borders: You Can't Quit Me Baby brings back the debut, while Monsters in the Parasol brings in Rated R. Little Sister gets an improvised intro; No One Knows closes the thirteen songs.
The tour continues through European festivals before reaching Reading and Leeds in August. The professional Landgraaf footage remains a portrait of this five-piece on the road. In October 2025, the performance resurfaces in the Pinkpop archive, preserving an hour in which recent material meets the earlier records.
