Context
Two weeks separate the arrival of Minutes to Midnight from Linkin Park's Pinkpop debut. On May 28, 2007, the six-piece takes the main stage at Megaland, in Landgraaf. The third album had moved away from the nu metal of the early records; now its songs share the same space as the earlier hits.
No More Sorrow opens the preserved portion of the performance, which leaves out the first three songs of the night. Papercut and Points of Authority bridge back to Hybrid Theory. Pushing Me Away comes on piano. Before The Little Things Give You Away, Chester talks about the visit to New Orleans after Katrina that inspired the song.
The footage runs into an obstacle: Warner blocks the live broadcast on television and online. The professional recording preserves fifteen songs but ends before the close of Faint. The band returns to Pinkpop five years later. What stays documented is the first visit to the festival, at the moment the third album begins to redefine the band's stage.
