Tour albumLight Grenades2006 · 2007 US Arena TourThe tour promotes Light Grenades, whose songs make up most of the seventeen performances gathered in the film.“To follow the resumption of the Light Grenades tour after Mike Einziger's surgery, with Chicago as the anchor.”
Context
By July 2007, the road has already brought a concrete interruption: Mike Einziger underwent surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome, and part of the tour had to be postponed. On the 25th, Incubus reaches the Charter One Pavilion in Chicago as the Light Grenades shows resume.
Look Alive uses this performance as its anchor, but is not limited to one night. The edit moves through shows, rehearsals and backstage scenes. Rogues opens the musical sequence; Quicksand, A Kiss to Send Us Off and Anna Molly keep the recent album up front. Redefine gets an acoustic version, while Megalomaniac appears with an extended intro.
The film reaches DVD in November of that year and turns the tour into something beyond a sequence of stage moments. The travel and Einziger's operation enter the same narrative as the songs, with interludes composed by the guitarist. The edition with CD also preserves that soundtrack: the road becomes part of the record.
- Redefine appears in an acoustic version, and Megalomaniac gets an extended intro.
