“To see The Strokes welcome the previous night's headliner, Charli xcx, two weeks after releasing Reality Awaits.”
Context
Two weeks after the arrival of Reality Awaits, The Strokes take the Lands End stage on August 8, 2026. The return to Outside Lands finds the band on tour with Steve Schiltz in place of Nick Valensi. The new record breaks a six-year gap between albums.
Ize of the World opens the night, and Going Shopping and Dine N’Dash place the recent work among songs from different phases. The change of scale comes with Charli xcx, the previous night's headliner. She shares Take It or Leave It with Julian Casablancas, who jokes about the sales race between the July releases.
You Only Live Once closes the encore, while four songs on the running order are left out. The following week, the route moves on to Summer Sonic, in Japan. The performance is part of Amazon Music's festival stream: the recording preserves this meeting between The Strokes' recording comeback and a guest who had already worked with Casablancas.
