“To see the original lineup on the first Saturday of ACL 2025, five years after The New Abnormal.”
Context
On October 4, 2025, Zilker Park hosts the first of The Strokes' two nights at that edition of Austin City Limits. Five years after The New Abnormal, the quintet arrives at the T-Mobile Stage with all six studio albums released so far represented in the set.
Bad Decisions opens the show, followed by Reptilia and The Modern Age. Julian Casablancas takes the vocals between the guitars of Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr., with Nikolai Fraiture and Fabrizio Moretti holding down the rhythm. Welcome to Japan is dedicated to Rogelio; Selfless appears near the end, before Last Nite.
The encore goes back to the first album: Is This It and Take It or Leave It close the performance. A week later, the band returns to the festival for the second Saturday. The Hulu stream preserves this first visit, with sixteen songs that place the 2001 debut beside the 2020 material.
- Is This It and Take It or Leave It make up the encore.
