The Strokes

Formed in New York in the late 1990s, The Strokes condensed dry guitars, economical melodies and a carefully staged indifference into a vocabulary that helped redefine early-2000s rock. Is This It became a reference point for a generation, but the career never stayed frozen in that moment: internal tensions, hiatuses and more electronic records widened the repertoire.

With The New Abnormal and Reality Awaits, the group began treating its own nostalgia as material for transformation.

Why listen to The Strokes?

Minimal guitars, instant melodies and urban decadence turned into a language that keeps bending out of shape.
