Context
On June 12, 2026, Bonnaroo hosts The Strokes for the opening of the Reality Awaits tour. The seventh album is still to come, six years after The New Abnormal. There is also a change on stage: Nick Valensi is taking a break from touring, and Steve Schiltz takes over his guitar.
Killing Lies opens the night after being absent from shows since 2022. Julian Casablancas leads eighteen songs that span the six earlier albums and introduce two singles from the next one. The Modern Age comes in at a fan's request, in place of Gratisfaction. Further on, Falling out of Love gets its first full live performance.
Ize of the World closes the performance in Manchester, Tennessee. After the festival, the tour moves on to Clarkston and other cities, while Reality Awaits arrives on July 24 through Cult Records and RCA. Streamed on Disney+ and Hulu, the night preserves the meeting of a record still to come and an established repertoire.
- Falling out of Love gets its first full live performance.
- Killing Lies returns after four years out of the shows.
