Context
Four is four days away from British stores when Bloc Party take the main stage at Pukkelpop, in Hasselt. It is August 16, 2012. After the break that began in 2009, Kele Okereke, Russell Lissack, Gordon Moakes and Matt Tong are back on the road together with new material.
Octopus opens the performance and puts the new phase up front. Kettling and Team A also make the set, but the band doesn't abandon the past: Positive Tension, Banquet and So Here We Are bring back Silent Alarm. In the final stretch, We Found Love joins Flux, before Helicopter closes.
The run continues to Lowlands and Frequency in the following days, while Four is released through Frenchkiss. The horizon of this reunion still includes Matt Tong's departure during the 2013 tour. The Hasselt recording preserves a moment before the break: the four original members presenting the record that closes their joint studio history.
