Context
In May 2012, the reunion is already two years old, but the first studio album of this comeback has yet to arrive. On the 27th, Soundgarden takes Megaland, in Landgraaf, during its European run. Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron share the stage once again.
Searching With My Good Eye Closed opens the way; Slaves & Bulldozers closes the performance. Between them, the quartet draws eleven of the thirteen songs from Badmotorfinger and Superunknown. Blow Up the Outside World represents Down on the Upside, while Live to Rise brings a song just released for the soundtrack of The Avengers.
King Animal arrives in November of that year and continues on record the reunion that began in 2010. The Pinkpop performance stands as a portrait of this interval: the old catalog holds the center, but there is already new music on stage. In June 2025, the professional footage gets an official release in the festival archive.
- Live to Rise appears between Black Hole Sun and the closing Slaves & Bulldozers.
