Bloc Party

Formed in London in 1999 by Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack, Bloc Party became one of the decisive names of the British post-punk revival of the 2000s. Silent Alarm combined angular guitars, nervous drums and emotional vulnerability with rare pop precision.

The band then pushed that language into electronics, dance-punk and heavier textures, going through hiatuses and a deep lineup change. The result is a career less consistent than the impact of the first album, but marked by restlessness and reinvention.

Why listen to Bloc Party?

To feel tense guitars and dance-floor urgency turn urban anxiety into songs that always seem about to explode.
