“To follow Neon Ballroom's arrival on German television, a few weeks after the release of the third album.”
Context
Neon Ballroom has just opened a new chapter for Silverchair when the band reaches the Philipshalle. It is April 4, 1999, during the Osterrocknacht, in Düsseldorf. German television records a show that brings the new album close to the two records behind the trio's first international breakthrough.
Emotion Sickness comes first, ahead of Israel’s Son, Abuse Me and Slave. Ana’s Song and Paint Pastel Princess put Neon Ballroom back at the center. Suicidal Dream and Madman keep the link to Frogstomp, while The Door and Freak revisit the Freak Show material.
Anthem for the Year 2000 leads the final stretch, followed by No Association and Spawn Again. The recording belongs to the Rockpalast broadcast circuit. The available edit combines footage of the show with audio replaced by a CD source, keeping the sequence of fourteen songs.
