Context
Six days separate the release of Angels with Dirty Faces from Tricky's appearance at Pinkpop on May 31, 1998. In Landgraaf, the record is still new. The tour reaches the festival after American clubs and the London Forum, with Mark Gemini Thwaite newly on guitar.
Tricky opens with Anti Histamine and moves through Bury the Evidence before reaching Pumpkin. Cath Coffey and Denise Ellington share the vocal parts throughout the set. Lyrics of Fury brings Eric B. & Rakim to the stage; Carriage for Two and The Moment I Feared present the new phase among songs from Maxinquaye.
After Landgraaf, the band carries on through Europe and reaches the main stage at Glastonbury. The schedule also includes a long American leg that summer. The Pinkpop footage remains tied to the festival's audiovisual archive and to Dutch television coverage: a performance that captures the record's early run, before the next changes in lineup and direction.
- Cath Coffey and Denise Ellington share the female vocals; Vent closes the encore.
