“To hear Freak Show songs in Buenos Aires back in 1996, before the release of the second album.”
Context
Buenos Aires welcomes Silverchair in November 1996, before Freak Show hits the stores. The band plays the Estadio Ferrocarril Oeste, as part of the Festival Rock & Pop Alternativo. Frogstomp is still the reference album, but the stage already makes room for songs meant for its successor.
The edit starts with an interview with Daniel Johns. Madman opens the musical block, followed by Leave Me Out and Findaway. Freak, Pop Song for Us Rejects and Slave appear among songs from the debut, showing that the second album's material was already circulating before its release.
Pure Massacre and Israel’s Son close the preserved stretch. The show comes before the band's Brazilian dates that same month. The recording gathers ten songs and keeps the opening interview, placing the Argentine stop in a period when Silverchair was still building the transition to Freak Show.
