Tour albumSupposed Former Infatuation Junkie1998 · Junkie TourThe Junkie Tour promotes the album, which widens the repertoire brought to Pinkpop after the 1996 appearance.“To see Alanis return to Pinkpop three years after 1996, now on the Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie tour.”
Context
Three years after the 1996 appearance, Alanis Morissette returns to Pinkpop with another album to defend. It is May 24, 1999, the festival's last day in Landgraaf. Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie already sits at the center of the Junkie Tour, without taking away Jagged Little Pill's place in her meeting with the audience.
On the Megaland main stage, Alanis dances, roams the space and also takes up the guitar. Nick Lashley and Joel Shearer share the band's guitars, with Chris Chaney on bass and Gary Novak on drums. Hand in My Pocket and You Oughta Know sit alongside Sympathetic Character, So Pure and Thank U.
The road continues for the rest of 1999, with a joint run with Tori Amos and the MTV Unplugged recording on the horizon. The Landgraaf performance remains in the audiovisual collection of Dutch public television. The recording holds that precise interval: the return to the festival after the commercial explosion, now with a second repertoire to sustain.
